Steel casting is a type of ferrous investment casting in which casts are made out of stainless and carbon alloy steels. During steel casting, free-flowing liquid steel is shaped through the use of molds. Steel casting produces small, complex, or hard-to-machine shapes, eliminating the need for assembly, welding, and other finishing work.
Important factors to consider when selecting steel castings are the design, material and testing. When ordering steel castings, the type of steel that will be used to produce the part must be identified. Steel castings are usually ordered to ASTM requirements. By specifying the test methods for an order, the requirements of the material can be guaranteed.
Steel castings are utilized by multiple industries including energy, construction, transportation, general industry, and marine. Examples of items that are steel castings include: hydroelectric turbine wheels, forging presses, gears, railroad car frames, valve bodies, pump casings, mining machinery, marine equipment, and engine casings. Because steel are stronger than cast iron, wrought iron, and malleable iron, steel castings are typically used in the manufacturing of parts that must endure shocks, wear, or heavy loads. Steel castings can be made from carbon steel, low and high alloy steel, low temperature steel, heat resistant steel, and stainless steel.
Kylin is an exported foundry in Ningbo China. We use the processes of Investment-casting, precision casting, Lost wax casting, Lost foam casting & sand casting to produce mainly spares of the pumps, mining equipments, construction machinery, and transportation equipments like trains & ships. We use mainly the materials of common carbon steel, alloy steel, manganese steel, stainless steel, and high-Cr & wear-resist Iron.
Refer to investment casting, precision casting, lost wax casting & lost foam casting, the weight we could produce is from 0.5kg to 100kg. For steel sand casting, the weight we could handle is from 30kg to 3000kg. Both casting techniques above, we have 4 intermediate frequencies furnaces each, the capacity is from 500kg to 1000kg.
Our foundry established with heat-treating and machining shops, specializing in products designing, producing and trading. The annual export reaches at 20000 tons. Goods are mostly exported to America, Canada, Australia, UK and other countries. Till now, we have got a good impression from our customers.
In order to ensure the quality of our products, Kylin built a lab which has the equipments, X-ray tester, CMM, Spectrum Analysis Instrument, Metallographic Examination Instrument, Magnetic Particle Inspector, Hardness Tester, Impact Test Machine, and Univeral Strength Tester etc.
